Day 1: Arrival. Information meeting for the tour. Accommodation in the Pensione Ceaglio.

Day 2: Village tour: Historic Marmora. 3h30 - 4 h, 550 m.
On the round tour through the historic and partly collapsed hamlets of Marmora we get to know the typical architecture of the Maira Valley and gain insight into the life of former times that was full of privations. Impressive frescoes from Giovanni Baleison of the 15th century in San Sebastiano's chapel. Sun dials on Marmora's village church Parrocchia S. Giorgio e Massimo.

Day 3: Colle Intersile - Alpe Chiot – Grange Torre – Combe – Celle Macra, Borgo Rio. 5 h30, + 800 m, - 1100m.
Taxi transfer to Parrocchia (1524 m), then on the old GTA-trail (Alp trail) crossing larch woods, reaching the timber line, to the pass “Colle Intersile“(2076 m). Going downhill to the “Alp Chiot“(1980 m) with its Genepy-plantings. Our path leads 200m before the brook, across meadows, to stone house and afterwards downhill following the mountain brook through the wild Intersile-Valley to the abandoned hamlet “Grange Torre“(“ghost village”, 1438 m) which is now surrounded by wood. Underneath the houses you cross the bridge and then to the right on the P.O. trail, through the forest to the hamlet Rio (1010m). There we will pick you up.

Day 4: Junction before Aramola - Ponte di Pessa – Caudano - Stroppo-Bassura. 4 h 30, - 920 m, + 400 m: Transfer from Stroppo-Bassura to Marmora-Vernetti.
After the taxi transfer to the junction (1100m, sign: Aramola) on the gravel road to Aramola (1300 m) and then 200 m before you reach the chapel della Madonna you go to the right on the old mule path, through the forest, downhill to the unique arch bridge made of stone "Ponte di Pessa" (865 m). You cross the bridge and then you go to the left up to the main road which you reach at the houses of Pessa. On the left side above the houses starts the hiking trail to Caudano (1130 m). In the village Caudano you will find a former hospital. It has a striking front and beautiful arched windows made of stone. After having visited the village you go back in front of the village and you take on the left side the yellow marked path to S. Peyre (1238m); (signpost S. Peyre Paschero at the junction of the small road to Centenero). Very beautiful hiking trail on the Maira Valley's sunny side. At the church S. Peyre you go downhill to Stroppo-Bassura (937 m). Day 5: Monte Bert (2394 m) - Lago Nero (2240 m) – Passaggio del Preit (2147 m) – Selvest (1661 m) – Preit (1541 m). Without Monte Bert: 4 h, + 650 m, - 770 m. Monte Bert: additional 1 h, + 170 m;
Transfer to the Grange Selvest (1661m) in the morning and transfer from Preit (1541m) to Marmora-Vernetti in the afternoon.
Transport to the starting point Grange Selvest (1661 m). Hiking on the alpine path to the Alp Grangia Giacarloso and then on the path to the lake „Lago Nero“(2240 m) with view onto the Monviso. Before you get to the Lago Nero you can hike up the mountain "Monte Bert" (2394 m), from where you have a 360° panoramic view (time needed to hike up the Monte Bert and back down: 1 h). After the Lago Nero over the saddle Passaggio del Preit (2147 m) and down, passing the memorial for the “Alpini”, to the Grange Selvest, then you follow the road to Preit. Please call us when you are at Preit and we will pick you up there.

Day 6: Chialvetta – Gardetta-pass – Rifugio Gardetta – Colle del Preit. 4 h. + 975m, - 370 m. Transfer to Chialvetta. Transport from Colle del Preit to Marmora-Vernetti.
After the transport to Chialvetta, hiking uphill on the yellow and also red-white marked hiking trail we leave the populated area. The vegetation is getting sparsely the higher we go; we cross a loamy and stony area and pass former bunker on our way to the pass "Gardetta" (2440 m). From here we have a stunning view onto the Gardetta plateau and to the dolomite like Rocca La Meja (2840 m). The hiking trail leads across alp meadows down to the “Rifugio della Gardetta” (2337 m), where you can drink or eat something and further down to the Colle del Preit (2076 m) at the edge of the Gardetta-plateau. Day 7: Colle del Preit – Colle del Mulo (2527m) – Lago Resile (1969m) – Marmora-Vernetti (1223m). 6h, + 550 m, - 1400 m. Transport to the Colle Preit.
After the transport to the Colle del Preit at the edge of the Gardetta-plateau, we are following the yellow marks of the Percorso Occitano (P.O.) on the small Alp road, which leads across the wide meadows of the Gardetta-plateau. On the left side these are surmounted by the Dolomite like „Rocca la Meja“(2831 m). Passing the ruins of a casern we are reaching the small mountain lake „La Meja“ and afterwards the pass „Colle del Mulo“(2527 m). On a path we go downhill to the asphaltic pass-road, which – on the right – leads to the pass „Colle d’Esischie“. However, we go to the left - further downhill, following always the yellow marks. At 1969 m we reach the lake „Lago Resile“. We are following the brook downhill and reach at Marmora the chapel „San Sebastiano“ (1350 m). From there we are following the small road downhill until we reach our accommodation in Marmora-Vernetti.
Transport to the starting point Grange Selvest (1661 m). Hiking on the alpine path to the Alp Grangia Giacarloso and then on the path to the lake „Lago Nero“(2240 m) with view onto the Monviso.
